Nursing Directors

There are four Director roles in the Corporate Nursing Structure. These individuals all report into the Chief Nurse and will work closely with each other and the members of the corporate nursing team and wider nursing workforce in our localities.

Director of Safer Care (for specialised services, patient safety and safeguarding) and Patient Safety Specialist

The post holder will work as part of a wider team to ensure that patient safety, service user experience and quality is appropriately prioritised and considered in the work of the organisation. Act as line manager for Lead Nurses as delegated by the Chief Nurse. They will build and maintain good working relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders on issues relating to patient safety.

Director of Nursing, Infection Prevention and Control & Physical Health

The Director of Nursing for IPC and Physical Health will be responsible for taking a proactive approach to providing specialist advice in the identification, prevention, monitoring/surveillance, investigation of and control of infection within the Trust. To monitor staff compliance with infection prevention and control policies, initiating appropriate actions to enable all grades of staff to prevent and control infection. Act as specialist adviser and resource to all staff, clinical and non-clinical, on issues relating to infection prevention and control. Participate in infection prevention and control and physical health meetings and attend other relevant committees and working groups as agreed with the Chief Nurse.

Director for Quality

The post holder will work as part of a wider team to ensure high-quality health care for all, and this is appropriately prioritised and considered in the work of the organisation. They will build and maintain good working relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders on issues relating to quality.

Director for Patient Experience and Involvement

Lead the Experience & Involvement function within the Trust, providing specialist expertise on all aspects of patient experience and involvement including leading on the:

  • Development of the Trust’s approach to measuring and improving service users and carers experience and involvement
  • Identification of quality improvement opportunities relating to service users and carers experience and involvement and the delivery of these quality improvements
  • Identification and dissemination of learning that will promote positive experiences and improve service quality in relation to service users and carers experience
  • Involvement of service users and carers in all aspects of quality and service improvement
